Thank you for your interest in Grace Lutheran Church! We hope that this information will give you an idea of who we are and what we are about.
First of all, you should know who we are: We are a gathering of people who have seen the mercy of God in the forgiveness of our sins through Jesus Christ. We gather together as a congregation to give thanks and praise to our God for His Love and Mercy.
Now that you know who we are, please allow us to tell what we are about: The purpose of Grace Lutheran Church might be easily summarized in the “Great Commission” of our Lord Jesus Christ.
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Matthew 28:19–20
Since we have seen the love and mercy of our God in Jesus Christ, the people of Grace are devoted to sharing this wonderful message with others and also to “building one another up in Christ.”
This Devotion can be seen more specifically in the following areas:
Sunday Morning Worship – 8:00 AM & 10:30 AM
During the Advent (pre–Christmas) and the Lenten (pre–Easter) seasons, worship is offered each Wednesday at 11:00 AM and 7:00 PM.
“So then, men ought to regard us as servants of Christ and as those entrusted with the secret things of God.”
1 Corinthians 4:1
Pastor Ronald Schultz has served the Grace Congregation since January 6, 1991. Pastor Mark Witte began his service to Grace on July 9, 2006 as a recent graduate of Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Both are on call every day to assist with spiritual needs. Either Pastor can be reached by phoning the office: 1-734/242-1401.
Pastoral Counseling: Anyone desiring pastoral counseling is invited to phone the office and set a time to meet with either Pastor.
Practical care: A Helping Hand Fund is administered by the Elders for the members of Grace Congregation. Information and requests for assistance may be obtained by contacting one of the staff.
Hospital Visitation: The Pastors are available to minister to our church families who are facing illness, hospitalization, surgery, etc. Please phone the church office to notify one of the Pastor's if you are going to the hospital so that one or both may visit you.
Baptisms: The Sacrament of Holy Baptism is extended to those who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and to their children as taught in the Scriptures. Speak to Pastor Schultz or Pastor Witte to prepare for a Baptism.
Weddings: Couples desiring to have a wedding here at Grace Church must speak to Pastor Schultz or Pastor Witte to set a date and arrange for an enriching series of Pre–Marital Counseling sessions.
Funerals: Christian Burial is offered to those who have confessed the Lord Jesus Christ and have received the ministry of one of our Pastors. Since the death of a loved one is an especially trying time of personal pain we ask those who have questions about this to talk to Pastor Schultz or Pastor Witte before there is a need.

We have a goal here at Grace to return a “friendly visit” to those who have been our guest in worship. These visits are intended to be informal and non-threatening for all involved, and provide an opportunity to share the important points of our Christian faith. Our visits take place on Monday nights, and all are welcome to go out on behalf of the Church. (Visits are led by trained volunteers, and new participants are not expected to speak unless they are comfortable in doing so.) For more information contact the church secretary (1-734/242-1401).
“Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.”
1 Peter 4:10
As a family of believers, our desire is to assist in meeting the spiritual and physical needs of individuals and families in our congregation and community.

The Altar Guild of Grace Lutheran Church is a group of members dedicated to preparing the altar and sanctuary for worship services and communion including the Communion and Baptism settings, flowers, candles, paraments, and care of linens.
There is an annual meeting early in January to elect officers, discuss any questions or problems that come up, and schedule monthly duties. A few special (usually short) meetings are sometimes required during the year.
The Altar Guild welcomes new members at any time.
The purpose of church ushering is to help prepare for worship, maintain order and decency, act as host for the Lord‘s house, do the work of evangelism, and promote public relations. Its contribution is of great value and importance to our worship service. It influences not only the work of the pastor, the organist, and the choir but the whole congregation. Quality ushering may inspire visitors to become regular worshipers and eventually members of the church.
